Mark joined FBC in July 2024 in this role. Mark’s career commenced with the Cadbury Organisation after completing a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree at UTas. His 20-year career with the Cadbury organisation included a range of roles in Tasmania as well as in the UK, Engineering roles as well as Supply Chain, Quality, Technical, Culture Change, as well as managing Quality and Compliance in highly regulated medicines manufacturing during which time Mark also completed an MBA through Deakin University.
Following suffering an almost fatal Stroke in 2006, Mark’s lived experience of living with a disability has fuelled his desire to contribute to the effective delivery of services to those affected by disability and/or the effect of advancing years.
Mark’s interests include yachting, having achieved some success in early adulthood with a few Tasmanian, and one Australian, championships in the Rainbow class sailing dinghy with his brother. Immediately prior to his Stroke in 2006 he was sailing regularly with his son in a 2 handed 14-foot skiff, the NS 14 class.
Mark is also an avid follower of Rugby Union and also enjoys cooking to entertain family and friends. He is married to Heather who moved to Tasmania from South Africa in 2012. Mark has 2 daughters, a son, and a new granddaughter.
