Support Worker

The role of a Support Worker is a varied one across a number of programs, performing a range of tasks with clients of all ages and abilities. Hours of work are also varied which allows for flexibility for our workers to accommodate a healthy work/life balance.

Family Based Care Support Workers are encouraged to attend ongoing training and personal development opportunities and we have a dedicated Skills Development and Training Coordinator to facilitate this.

  • have an understanding and empathy for our clients (people with a disability, the frail aged and their carers).

Essential Requirements for the Support Worker role:

  • Relevant Level III Certificate (HACC, Disability, Community Service or Aged Care)
  • Current clean National Police Check
  • Current Level I First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card

Home Care Worker

Family Based Care Home Care Workers provide a valuable service to our clients who are no longer able to manage heavier housework tasks. Hours of work are generally from 9am -3 pm Monday to Friday (this does not include Public Holidays), so these positions are attractive to people with school age children. Staff who commence working with us as a Home Care Worker who wish to transition to Support Worker positions are encouraged and supported to gain the required qualification.

When recruiting we look for people who

  • have experience in cleaning (professional or personal)
  • have a good work ethic
  • are organised and enjoy working with our clients (mainly the frail aged).

Tasks may include:

  • Vacuuming
  • Washing and drying floors
  • Laundry tasks
  • Changing and making the bed
  • Cleaning of the bathroom and toilet area
  • Ironing
  • Dusting
  • Shopping

Essential requirements of the role:

  • Cleaning Experience and/or Certificate III Cleaning Operations
  • Clear National Police Check
  • Current CPR Certificate
