Carer Support Programs

Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre (CRCC)

At Family Based Care we understand how difficult and tiring it can be at times to care for someone on a full-time basis and how welcome a short break can be.  We also know how important it is that your loved one gets the very best care while you are away and we can create a respite plan suited to your specific needs and provide qualified and trusted staff to perform those tasks for you.

Our respite services are funded from a variety of sources and can be organised on a regular, ongoing basis so carers can take a break to pursue other interests or activities. Providing safe and secure companionships to a loved one can assist a carer in maintaining a long-term caring role.
We can also quickly put a plan into place during an emergency and can offer services for people affected by dementia

Counselling, Support, Information and Advocacy (CSIA)

Family Based Care  recently received funding from the Australian Government Department of Social Services to deliver support programs to Carers living in NW Tasmania under its CSIA program.  This program provides carers with assistance to understand and manage situations, behaviours and relationships associated with care needs of the person they are caring for.
